Telangana Empowers Backward Classes with 42% Reservation in Local Bodies

In a significant move towards inclusive governance, the Telangana Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has approved a 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies. This decision, implemented through an ordinance, comes after a comprehensive caste survey and a report from the BC commission, aligning with the directives of the Supreme Court.

Boosting Representation and Opportunities

This landmark decision aims to empower BC communities by ensuring greater representation in local governance. The increased reservation will allow BCs to play a more active role in shaping their communities and accessing vital resources.

17,084 New Government Jobs Announced

Adding to the positive news, the Telangana government also announced the creation of 17,084 additional government jobs. This will further contribute to economic empowerment and opportunities for the people of Telangana.
