23 Maoists Surrender in Chhattisgarh, Dealing Major Blow to Naxalism

In a significant win for peace and security in Chhattisgarh, 23 Maoists, including several high-ranking commanders from the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) battalion, surrendered to authorities in Sukma district, Bastar region. This represents a major victory for ongoing anti-Naxal operations in the area.

Senior Commanders and Key Figures Among Those Who Surrendered

The group of surrendering Maoists carried a combined bounty of ₹1.18 crore, highlighting the significance of their decision. Among those who surrendered is a key figure implicated in the 2012 abduction of the Sukma district collector. Another individual was identified as a personal bodyguard to Hidma, a notorious Maoist commander.
