Heartbreak at Kuno: Namibian Cheetah Nabha Passes Away
Tragedy has struck Kuno National Park as Nabha, an eight-year-old female cheetah brought from Namibia, has passed away from injuries sustained during a hunting attempt within her enclosure. The heartbreaking news comes after a week of intensive treatment by veterinary staff.
Nabha’s Final Days
Nabha sustained fractures to her left ulna and fibula during the hunting incident. Despite the dedicated efforts of the Kuno veterinary team, her injuries proved too severe, and she sadly succumbed to them. The team worked tirelessly for a week, providing her with the best possible care, but ultimately they were unable to save her.
Kuno’s Remaining Cheetah Population
With Nabha’s passing, the cheetah population at Kuno National Park now stands at 26. Park officials report that all other cheetahs are healthy and continue to adapt well to their new environment. The team at Kuno remains dedicated to the ongoing conservation efforts and the well-being of the remaining cheetahs.
