Indian Pilots Dispute Air India Crash Report, Allege Bias
The Airline Pilots’ Association of India (ALPA) has publicly challenged the preliminary findings of the Air India crash investigation in Ahmedabad. They believe the report unfairly focuses on pilot error before all facts are known and are demanding a more transparent process.
Pilots’ Association President Calls for Fair Investigation
ALPA India President, Sam Thomas, released a statement expressing deep concerns. “The tone and direction of the investigation suggest a bias toward pilot error,” he stated. “We categorically reject this presumption and insist on a fair, fact-based inquiry.”
Demand for Transparency in Accident Investigation
The association emphasized the need for a thorough and impartial investigation, urging authorities to consider all possible contributing factors before assigning blame. They believe a premature focus on pilot error could compromise the investigation’s integrity and prevent crucial safety lessons from being learned.
