Desperate Measures: Man Steals Transformer to Dodge ₹1.5 Lakh Power Bill in MP

A resident of Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh, Shriram Bihari Tripathi, has been accused of taking a drastic step to avoid paying his mounting electricity bills. Faced with nearly ₹1.5 lakh in dues, Tripathi allegedly stole a 25 kV electricity transformer intended for agricultural use.

Father and Son Duo Dismantle and Hide Transformer

According to reports, Tripathi, with the assistance of his son, dismantled the transformer and hid it at their residence. The brazen act has shocked the local community and prompted a swift response from authorities.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have registered a case against Tripathi and are currently working to recover the stolen transformer. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the incident and any potential accomplices.
