Facing mounting pressure, Khar shifted her defense, claiming that the Pakistani army was not defending a US-proscribed individual. This statement raised further questions about Pakistan’s stance on known terrorist figures and its commitment to combating terrorism.

The incident has ignited a firestorm of criticism and fueled ongoing concerns about the support networks for terrorist organizations operating within Pakistan.
