MP Village Road Issue Sparks Controversy After BJP MP’s Remark

A pregnant woman’s plea for better road access in her village has ignited a firestorm after a Member of Parliament suggested a controversial solution.

Pregnant Women Should Be Hospitalized Early, Suggests MP

In Khaddi Khurd village, Madhya Pradesh, the lack of proper roads poses a significant challenge, especially for pregnant women needing to reach hospitals. This issue was highlighted by influencer Leela Sahu, who emphasized the difficulties ambulances face navigating the treacherous terrain, particularly during the monsoon season. Sidhi BJP MP Rakesh Mishra responded to the concerns, suggesting that pregnant women be admitted to hospitals a week before their due date as a workaround to the road access problem. He stated that “every childbirth has a fixed date,” seemingly implying a predictable and controlled process.

MP’s Remark Draws Criticism

This suggestion has sparked widespread criticism, with many questioning the practicality and sensitivity of the MP’s statement. Critics argue that such a solution disregards the emotional and physical needs of expectant mothers and overlooks the underlying infrastructure issue that needs addressing. The incident has brought to light the challenges faced by rural communities in accessing essential services like healthcare and the urgent need for improved infrastructure.
